Quote of the Day

"Statesmen... may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand"

Selah to the rescue

Here is another funny by Selah to add to the collection.

We are sitting at lunch talking about papi. Sydney says, "Papi's at the C.C."
I say, "Actually Sydney you are right. Papi is having a meeting at the C.C with Uncle Charles and a few other people."
Seth asks who else is there and I tell him that I don't know if he knows the other people who will be there, but that one person who would also be there was Mr. Ed Melugin, one of Uncle Charles' friends. He says, "I know that name, but I don't think I know how he looks."
Selah quickly answers, "Well he has a shirt, and pants, and shoes."
Seth and I look at each other with smirks on our faces thinking about how funny random our little Selah is.

The mission field is literally between your own two feet at any given time."

Photographer’s Prayer

Oh God, as I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait, never let me forget that I’m creating treasures for some family, a keepsake for loved ones. Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others, that I may draw out into the light the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts. Help me to be an artist, collecting the beauty of every soul, the glow of youth, the gentleness, the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in Thy sight. Deeper than a means of livelihood, give me the perspective to see my photographer’s art as a service to others, making life richer and more memorable.

And, dear Lord, between the lights and shadows, the ups and downs and the rolling years, keep me from getting out of focus or off center, so that my life and work may be framed with dignity and colored with contentment …

AMEN

Here is one more video for my blog video collection. I heard this quote on "Live from Criswell" and I just had to go out and find it to hear it again.

I love the simplicity and humor with which he discusses Capitalism.

My lovely

My lovely Selah. She had a wonderful time at camp. She learned a new song from some of the refugee children. They sang "I have decided to follow Jesus" in three languages including English. There English version wasn't perfect but it was beautiful. Selah kept singing the song kind of mumbling it. It wasn't until the following week that I realized she was singing a different version. She came and asked me, "Mami, why were the children singing 'I have decided to swallow Jesus.'?"

This is a Must Watch Video.

This video made my heart ache for the lost world. It also made me ache for the Christian world (Oh that we would all do more)! I pray for missionaries living out their calling around the world. I pray for the persecuted church suffering for the sake of Christ. I pray for the lost. I pray for the hungry. I pray for the suffering children. I pray for me, that I may do my part.

My baby is back home

By my baby I mean my iMac. My big Mac computer has been at Hidden Acres for most of the summer getting used for saving and editing camp photos and for making camp videos among other things.

I am very thankful for this computer and the work that it allows me to do. I love it and am so happy that its back home.

I am now going to get working on posting some of the camp videos and more pictures.

I posted most camp pictures on Facebook, but I saved a few for this here blog that will now resume regular programming.

Here are a few of my latest pictures I have been working on.
I borrowed a lens for a lot of these pictures. It is now on the top of my wish list.
