At the close of the 19th century, the London Times asked several prominent writers of the day to submit essays on the subject, "What's Wrong with the World?"
This morning as I was looking at myself in the mirror Seth started to say, "Mami, you look a little bit fat." but before finishing his statement he continued "...I mean plump. You look a little bit plump."
I smiled at him and said, "Oh thank you Seth, plump does make it sound better."
We had read a book where they used the word plump and I told him that it was a nice way to say fat and that you should never tell someone that they are fat because it might hurt their feelings.
Looking the word up did actually make me feel a little better, check it out:
plump Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, dull, blunt, from Middle Dutch plomp Date: 1569 1 : having a full rounded usually pleasing form
Seth said we should print this picture and send it to everyone for Valentines. Since I am not sure I will be able to accomplish that I decided to post it on my blog instead.
Come, O children, listen to me;I will teach you the fear of the LORD. What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace andpursue it.
I told Tim this would be on his Valentines Card...
So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this! Wear fine clothes, with a splash of cologne! Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun. -Ecclesiastes 9:7-9
I am thankful for Sundays that inspire conversations and thoughts on God and bringing glory to His name. I am thankful for Sundays that remind us that we are fallen creatures in need of grace and redemption. I wanted to post a little something inspired from what we talked about in Sunday School.
Sometimes songs convey more than just regular talk. Here is a great music video and lyrics.
Slow Fade by Casting Crowns
Be careful little eyes what you see It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings Be careful little feet where you go For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near Be careful little lips what you say For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands Is shorter than you're thinking Be careful if you think you stand You just might be sinking
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day Daddies never crumble in a day Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see Oh be careful little eyes what you see For the Father up above is looking down in love Oh be careful little eyes what you see
So I am going for a new look. I did not realize my strength for as I was cleaning my glasses this morning they broke right down the middle. But a little masking tape solved my problem. But do these glasses make me look fat? I figured if I was going to take a picture of me with my new look I better include three cute little faces to improve the picture.
The little boy on the left is our little tent boy or teepee boy. He likes walking around with this here his little costume.
