Never thought I would say this

I really never considered wanting a Volkswagen bus growing up. But it is looking like a sweet ride here as I reach 30 years of age. I may ask for this for my birthday. What do you think hubby?

I don't usually like myself in pictures or even think about taking pictures of myself, but someday my kiddos may want to know what I looked like when I was 29 and here is where my Mac comes in handy even though the quality isn't tops

Mami Notes

Here is a little something from an article in HOMELIFE that I think will help me as I raise my little ones:

"I am responsible to God for your protection. This really isn't about you or being your friend or what you think. This is about me, answering to God for how I have protected you. I don't care if it makes you mad or sad or glad. I'm the mom. I will stand in front of God one day, and I'm taking that seriously."

from Angela Thomas' "My Single Mom Life

Sometimes the responsibility of raising children into adulthood seems daunting. I have to remind myself to take it a day at a time. My children have been such a blessing to my life and I can't imagine the kind of person I would be without them. I feel that I can say that they are helping to make me a better person. Through them God has taught me and continues to teach me many things. I want to take this parenting thing seriously and do the best I can.

I am currently reading a book on homeschooling, as that is the path we are starting with Seth. Here is a quote from Noah Webster found in this book.

"All government originates in families, and if neglected there, it will hardly exist in society... The foundation of all free government and of all social order must be laid in families and in the discipline of youth.

... The education of youth, [is] an employment of more consequence than making laws and preaching the gospel, because it lays the foundation on which both the law and gospel rest for success."

Please continue to pray for us as we preach the gospel to our children. Right now we have begun the process of teaching our children a children catechism.

I have been pleasantly surprised that Seth has been eager to memorize and learn this with me. I hope to have it all memorized before Seth turns six.

Great Quote from a Great Book

We know that God is everywhere; but certainly we feel His presence most when His works are on the grandest scale spread before us: and it is in the unclouded night-sky, where His worlds wheel their silent course, that we read clearest His infinitude, His omnipotence, His omnipresence.

Epiphany wish list

There are a lot of things on my wish list, and most of them I can't afford. That is why this post is here. By blogging about this camera give away on my blog I get a chance to win one of the things on my wish list... A Canon 5D

Epiphany makes these super cute camera bags. I wish I had one and well they are holding this contest on their blog.

I also made these little cards for an extra chance. I am going all out. Hope I win :)
